HostGator Sent Me An Email… What Now?
HostGator will send you an email once you’ve purchased a hosting package that contains some pretty important information so PLEASE don’t delete it!
and…
…before I go any further I’d like to apologize for the last post. I talked about updating the DNS and yet I completely skipped over where in the world you where supposed to get that info! Sorry…
Enough of the mushy stuff! Let’s get to work LOL!!
As I mentioned before, once you’ve purchased your hosting plan you’ll receive an email; for tutorial purposes I’ll use HostGator. In that email will be your username, password, name servers, cpanel access and a “Getting Started Tutorial”.
Now login into your GoDaddy account,or whatever service you’re currently using, and click on the domain name you would like to redirect to HostGator. If you’re not quite sure what to do next simply refer to the previous post and that should answer all of your questions
Once you have updated the name servers it could take up to 15-20 minutes for the sites to talk to each other so don’t think you’ve done anything if it doesn’t happen immediately. But when it does you can login into the cpanel of that site by typing in http://YOURDOMAIN.com/cpanel. you’ll be taken to a screen that will ask for your username and password. Don’t panic! It’s in the email HostGator sent you, remember? Your login screen may look different than the ones below but you’ll get the same result.

If you have any questions just leave them as a comment and I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you and remember, if you’d rather have someone just put the blog up for you let me know and I’ll see what i can do for ya ![]()
