Customized WordPress Theme

A custom blog install is the best way to make your blog stand out from the rest. If you’ve never thought about learning a few little tricks that will “personify” your WordPress Theme you may want to reconsider. Here are a few examples where I’ve taken a standard WordPress Theme, made a few little tweaks and viola! Something completely new and refreshing!

The below screen capture is a custom install I just finished up for Kenneth Yu, The Puppet Master. He wanted me to install a theme called Thesis and when I installed it I nearly spit coffee all over my computer screen; it was so plain and boring and if left alone would look like every other plain, boring blog out there using a non-customized Thesis Theme.

The Antique-Engravings.com Blog installation has been a real big challenge for me. But you know what? I love every single minute of it! Sure, I may have a little less hair but I never thought I could learn so much so fast about customizing WordPress Blogs, seriously!

So I would like to thank Tim Warren for pushing me passed my comfort zone, whether it was on purpose or not!

As you can tell I’ve placed a screen cap of the Antique-Engravings blog to the left. If you’d like to know what template I used, it was the Egecia WordPress Theme. (Follow that link if you’d like to see what it used to look like before I customized it ;) )
